Yes. For-profit businesses can apply if the project clearly benefits the wider community, not just your business or customers. You’ll need to show how your idea serves a public purpose rather than a commercial one. Examples of eligible business-led projects:

• Donating or installing community infrastructure (e.g. seating, gardens, or signage)
• Offering resources or equipment that local groups can use (e.g. tools, cool room space, transport)

Not eligible:

• Projects that promote or advertise your business (e.g. a courtyard for employees)
• Sponsorships that directly benefit your business

Where for-profit businesses are making applications, we prefer to see an equivalent contribution from the business. We are unlikely to approve business applications where the CSP grant funding funds the project wholly.

“Ability to deliver” means demonstrating that your group can follow through on your plan.

You can show this by:

• Providing examples of similar activities or events you’ve already completed
• Sharing brief details about the people involved and their experience
• Attaching a short letter of support from your local councillor, state, or federal member confirming your community role or reliability

The BE RIGHT section is not mandatory, and your application will still be considered if you choose to leave it blank. However, while we assess every application based on its community benefit and practical impact, the BE RIGHT section helps us identify projects that truly align with our culture. . If we are deciding between two equally strong projects, demonstrated alignment with our values may serve as a deciding factor.

We value quality over quantity. You do not need to provide a response for every single value. We would much rather see one thoughtful, meaningful sentence for a value that truly resonates with your project than a generic response for all seven.

Yes — you can apply for reimbursement if the project or purchase happened within the past month and meets the grant guidelines. You’ll need to include a valid receipt immediately upon approval.

The program is designed to give local, grassroots groups the best possible chance to access support, especially those who might otherwise miss out on larger funding opportunities.

If you believe your group fits that grassroots brief and your work directly serves these postcode communities, but your official address isn’t within the eligible postcodes, please get in touch at community@accbeef.net.au to discuss before applying.

You’re welcome to submit more than one application, but each group can only receive one grant per calendar year.

Yes. Collaboration is encouraged. If your project involves multiple groups, nominate one as the lead applicant and clearly describe each group’s role.

We can only reimburse projects with valid receipts or invoices.

If you’re applying for something you’ve already purchased, payment will only be made once a receipt or invoice is provided. For new projects, you’ll need to submit receipts after completing your purchase or event. Failure to provide receipts may make you ineligible for future funding rounds.

A valid receipt can be a printed docket, emailed invoice, or digital proof of purchase, but it must clearly show what was purchased, where, and when. Bank or credit card statements alone aren’t sufficient.

Applications are reviewed monthly by the ACC Community Team, with oversight from senior management to ensure fairness and consistency. Each application is judged on community benefit, practical impact, and ability to deliver, with our BE RIGHT alignment serving as a ‘tie-breaker’ metric.
